The Party Tour

Chris Brown promotes his upcoming album with The Party Tour

April is here and as the weather heats back up, the new month bring us some hot events in the music world. One of R&B’s famous names, Chris Brown, will kick off the new month by performing new material off his upcoming album here in Boston as part of his two-month coast-to-coast tour to various cities across the U.S.

Brown began his rise to fame in 2005 with the release of his self-titled debut album and the success of his debut single “Run It!” Brown followed up with 2007’s Exclusive, reaching international popularity and spawning six hit singles, most notably “Forever.” Since then, Brown has released five more albums, with the most recent being Royalty in 2015. Brown has won several awards so far in his career, including 5 Billboard Music Awards, 3 Soul Train Awards, and 14 BET Awards.

Back in February, Brown announced his next upcoming tour on Twitter. Titled The Party Tour, the name appears to be inspired by Brown’s new single “Party,” featuring Gucci Mane and Usher. The track will be featured on his upcoming 8th album Heartbreak on a Full Moon, set to be released in June. Brown’s tour kicks off on March 31 in Baltimore, Maryland, and the Boston leg of his tour will be tonight. Sunday, April 2nd at 7:30pm at the TD Garden.

Who else is part of Brown’s lineup? Guest artists include:
• Morocco-born French Montana, known for his popular singles “Shot Caller” and “Pop That”
• O.T. Genasis, who has produced the hit songs “CoCo” and “Touchdown (Remix)” featuring Busta Rhymes and French Montana
• Fabolous, known for several hit singles and his collaborations with popular names in the hip-hop and R&B world and will be releasing his 7th album this year
• Kap G, an up-and-coming Latino hip-hop artist from Atlanta, Georgia

50 Cent was also supposed to join the tour but dropped out of the show earlier this week for unknown reasons, much to the disappointment of many fans. The show, however, will go on, and, as always, tickets can be purchased online through vendors like Ticketmaster, on the TD Garden’s website at http://www.tdgarden.com, or directly at the venue. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Don’t miss it!
